Students have an opportunity to choose from a variety of college and career pathways to excellence that include Business Administration, with a strong focus on Community/Public Service, and Law and Justice. Information
Technology will be integrated into all teaching and learning. Teachers will use computer technology, including laptops, graphing calculators, Personal Digital Assistants, Smart Boards, and response pads as primary learning and studying tools.
Involvement of partners individually and collectively in the instructional practices and course syllabi of Dorchester Academy signature courses are essential to the mission and goal. Incorporating citizenship, financial literacy and employability skills across the curriculum is expected, All students will engage in community-based work experiences, service learning and mentorships while at the Dorchester Academy.
The goal of Dorchester Academy is to graduate socially conscious students who are skilled in business and public service. A Dorchester Academy graduate will be empowered to attend college, start a business or career, and support the economic and neighborhood development needs of the communities in which they live.
