DORCHESTER ACADEMY FAMILY, COMMUNITY & STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

The Family, Community, and Student Engagement (FCSE) Department of Dorchester Academy is responsible for the development and support of family and student engagement initiatives at both the school and district - level. 

The Family Engagement Unit focuses specifically on support and advocacy for families and the development of family engagement initiatives that build strong meaningful partnerships between home and school that support student learning.

The Family-to-School-to-Community Team is comprised of the FCSE Coordinator, Mariana Troncoso, Headmaster Kwesi Moody, Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Placement, Cynthia Williams, Community Field Coordinator, Karen Greene, school faculty, and students.  . 

The FCSE Department provides support for families in navigating the Dorchester Academy and BPS; advocate and problems and supports families of SPED and ELL students; and provides support for the development and implementation of school-based family engagement plans.

Ms. Troncoso works with the Headmaster and the rest of the Administration Team, as well as the many community-based organizations to provide support for families’ unique needs at the school level.
